PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Pirates signed right-handed pitcher Tim Wood to a minor league contract Tuesday.

He will be brought to spring training as a non-roster invitee. Wood was 0-3 with a 5.63 ERA in 13 appearances last season with the Pirates.

After being designated for assignment he was signed by the Texas Rangers and recently became a free agent on Monday.

Wood was named to the International League postseason All-Star team this year. He recorded 23 saves for Class AAA Indianapolis.
