STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KDKA) – During a press conference, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett made a plea to the students of Penn State who have been demonstrating to show restraint and told them the eyes of the nation are watching them.

He referred to rioters as “knuckleheads.”

“Please, please, behave and demonstrate your pride in Penn State. Your actions speak much louder than your words and will carry with you for a very long period of time.

“I believe in the right to assemble and the right to express your opinions … I don’t believe in the right to violence. There is no such thing,” Corbett said.

Corbett said the attention needs to return to the alleged victims of former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

“We need to identify the victims of sex abuse, we need to help them, they are our children,” he said. “If there are more victims, witnesses out there please come forward.”

Corbett also talked about Joe Paterno and former university president Graham Spanier.

“I was disappointed in their actions,” he said.
