Tom Cruise, Family Take In Holiday Cheer At PPG Place

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Tom Cruise, who has been in Pittsburgh for a few weeks now working on his new movie, was spotted taking a break from filming this weekend to spend some quality time with his family.

Cruise, his wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri took in a little bit of the holiday cheer over at the ice rink at PPG Place where “Light Up Night” festivities continued into Saturday night.

Watch the web extra video here:

Of course, Cruise is in town filming “One Shot.”

Earlier this fall, Cruise, Holmes and Suri visited Soergel’s Orchard. Since that time, the Hollywood family’s presence has been creating quite a buzz around the city.

His latest film “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” is in theaters Dec. 21.

I know you are you cynical yinzer.

  2. MustafaJohnson says:

Nice to know that KDKA has the resources to have someone following him around.

    1. Ronald C Krause Jr says:

Someone gave KD a news release. Meanwhile there isn’t a Pgh station out there that does have the resources to keep up with a majority of the news and follow the details behind it.

Pesonally, I have a question about KDKA’s “wonderful” website here. Yeah, great to see that they were following Tom Cruise around, but question is about the censorhip they practice here. Many comments are deleted in the comment section, so could someone from KDKA explain who is in charge with this. I understand offensive type remarks need to go, but do they delete just anything because it’s flaged? How do they decide? What kind of legitimate news organization are they trying to be? What about the First Amendment?
Yeah, keep bragging about getting the scoop on Tom Cruise. But I have other issues with you.

    1. Bob says:

The First Amendment applies when the government is infringing upon your right to freedom of speech. A privately owned website like can censor its comments section as it sees fit.

      1. Steve says:

That’s very true, but it still says quite a bit from a company who exists because of its freedom of speech. Calls into question their credibility. I could see moderating posts that violate some specfic terms. But it seems that the moderator edits on a whim.

  5. Pete says:

I wonder if Mr. Cruise has visited the Scientology center on the Southside to get his regular e-meter reading and pay his respects to Xenu?

  6. Wil says:

Would L. Ron Hubbard approve of ice skating? All hail Xenu!

  7. Xenu says:

Did you know that Mr. Cruise has achieved Operating Theatan Level 7 in the Scientology religion? This means that, among other things, he is able to communicate with plants and animals, as well as place thoughts directly in the minds of other individuals.
