Fans Scramble To Get Tickets For Crosby's Return

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Penguins fans are scrambling to try to get a ticket for tonight's game at the CONSOL Energy Center.

Tickets are not easy to come by and certainly are not cheap.

The most expensive ticket KDKA-TV's Heather Abraham found for resale online was going for over $1,100.

As one fan put it, there's only one reason for that: Sidney Crosby is back.

Tonight, Crosby reclaims his spot on the ice and his return is expected to be witnessed by a sold out arena.

"Yeah, I got two of them actually. It should be fun, really looking forward to it," Jim Washburn said.

"I got the tickets yesterday morning. My uncle was like, 'Hey, you want to go to the game?' And then two hours later, they're like Sidney Crosby's coming back. Wow, what a bonus," Stephen Johns said.

Johns was fortunate enough to have a ticket given to him, but others were capitalizing on the excitement of the game.

Would you be willing to pay $2,300 for two tickets to see Crosby's return?

Washburn knows about returns. This will be the second time he's witnessing history, having been there when Mario Lemieux returned to the ice in 2000 and he'll be there tonight.

"I was there when Mario came back from his retirement and that was really cool and I expect it will be really loud in there tonight. Should be a good test of the new arena," Washburn said.

If you thought the standing ovation fans gave Crosby for the home-opener was something, just wait for tonight.
