TARENTUM (KDKA) — Allegheny County police continue to investigate following a shooting in Tarentum that sent one man to the hospital late Wednesday night.

Officials say the shooting happened near the intersection of Roup Avenue and Ormand Street.

The male victim was reportedly shot in the head.

Investigators say neighbors reported hearing as many as four gunshots and then saw a man lying in the middle of the street.

Following the shooting, some neighbors ran to the victim to try and help him.

He was reportedly able to speak when paramedics arrived, and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition.

A dark-colored Chevy Malibu with Massachusetts license plates was spotted leaving the scene. However, police don’t know if it’s connected to the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting is being asked to contact Allegheny County police.
