Mother Facing Homicide Charge In 4-Year-Old Son's Death

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) – New charges have been filed against the mother of a small child who was died from injuries sustained in an alleged beating.

According to State Police, Heather Forsythe, 27, was charged with one count of criminal homicide in the death of 4-year-old Trenton St. Clair in September.

The alleged abuse happened at a home in Point Marion where Forsythe and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Patrick Haney, were living.

A doctor from Ruby Memorial Hospital previously testified that Trenton had likely been dead for some time before his mother and her boyfriend took him to the hospital.

She said the child's injuries were not consistent with falling down the steps and believes Trenton suffered a traumatic death.

The district attorney previously told KDKA-TV he is now reviewing evidence to decide if he will seek the death penalty in this case.
