Pitt Interviews Three Candidates, No Offers Made

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pitt has interviewed three candidates for its head coaching vacancy: Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell, Florida International coach Mario Cristobal and Wisconsin offensive coordinator Paul Chryst.

Chryst had the most recent interview on Saturday.

There were reports and rumors circulating around all three candidates regarding job offers, but the university released a statement Sunday afternoon to silence the speculation. No job offer has been made.

"Contrary to Internet reports, the Pitt football head coaching position has not been offered to anyone, nor have any decisions on an offer been made," the statement said. "The search is still an ongoing process."

There's no word on if Pitt plans to interview any other candidates for the job. You can read about the three interviewees here along with other names believed to be in the mix.
