WEST HOMESTEAD (KDKA) — Police are investigating a deadly Monday afternoon shooting in West Homestead.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said 14-year-old Montae Thompson died following a shooting at the intersection of Locust Way and Sarah Street at around 2:40 p.m.

According to officials, the boy died in the operating room of UPMC Mercy Hospital at 4:22 p.m.

Sources tell KDKA’s Paul Martino that police recovered 15 shell casings at the scene.

Also, someone is reportedly being questioned about the shooting at county police headquarters.
