Fifth-Third Bank Robbed On North Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Someone held up the Fifth-Third Bank on the North Side.

The robbery happened in the 500-block of East Ohio Street around 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

Police say the suspect, described as a black male in his mid-20's, had a gun and a plastic bag when he approached the teller.

He told her to put the money in the bag and said he wasn't there to hurt anyone. After getting the money, he ran out of the bank.

Detectives later found the bag of money with an exploded dye pack.

No one was hurt.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded jacket, a black knitted Steelers cap, and a black scarf that covered part of his face.

The Pittsburgh Police Robbery Squad asks anyone with information to call them at 412-323-7151.
