Malkin Selected To Represent Penguins At NHL All-Star Game

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin has been selected to take part in the 2012 NHL All-Star Game later this month in Ottawa.

This is the fourth straight year that Malkin has been picked to appear at the event.

Last year, he missed the weekend-long event hosted by the Carolina Hurricanes due to a knee injury. This year, he is the only member of the Penguins selected to take part in the game.

Last month, Malkin was named the NHL's "First Star" of the month. He is currently in a tie for seventh place in the NHL scoring race.

The All-Star game will be held on Jan. 29 at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa.
