ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) — A standoff in Aliquippa came to a bizarre conclusion.

When police got to Third Avenue, a woman who was not wearing shoes or a coat was outside.

She told them 46-year-old Rodney Harper was inside.

Police say he threatened to kill whoever opened the door first.

After several hours, officers went inside and found Harper dead at the bottom of the steps.

They believe he fell.

Police say they found whiskey bottles, empty beer cans and knives in the home, but no guns.

An autopsy will be performed Thursday.
