Police Investigating Mount Oliver Fatal Stabbing

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA) – Allegheny County police say they have issued an arrest warrant following a deadly stabbing early Sunday morning in Mount Oliver.

According to police, the stabbing happened around 5:30 a.m. at a residence in the 100-block of Amanda Avenue.

A man who lives at the home said his best friend died in his arms from a stab wound to the neck.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 31-year-old Kevin Hill. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his wounds.

Allegheny County police say they have now issued an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Donald Finnigan. He is facing charges of criminal homicide.

The man living in the home did not want to be identified, but said his mother, uncle and best friend were also there when he was awakened by a commotion.

"I guess it was time for him to leave, and as he was walking out the doorway, some words were said or something and somehow a knife got brought into it and someone got stabbed," said the resident who did not want to be identified.

He said he came downstairs and found his friend in a pool of blood and then called 911.

"I was on the phone with paramedics or 911, and they had told me to put pressure on the wound and give him mouth to mouth and push on the chest and it did wake him up at one point," the man said. "Just enough time for him to look me in my eyes and then he fell out."

Police describe Finnigan as a white male, five-feet-10-inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.

Anyone with information on Finnigan's whereabouts is being asked to contact the Allegheny County Police Department at 412-473-3000.
