Crosby, Staal and Despres Practice With Full Team

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Injured Penguins Sidney Crosby, Jordan Staal and Simon Despres skated with teammates for Tuesday's morning skate in Montreal.

While the appearances don't mean any player is close to returning — morning skates typically involved very little to no contact, allowing injured players to participate — it is another positive sign in each player's recovery.

Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Monday that Staal and Despres are in the five-to-10 day range from returning to the lineup.

There is still no timetable on Crosby's return. He says he is still experiencing symptoms but admits to feeling better over the last week.

Other roster news:

  • The Penguins recalled forward Jason Williams Tuesday from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. He played in Tuesday night's 3-2 shootout loss to Montreal.
  • Forward Colin McDonald dressed in place of winger Tyler Kennedy Tuesday night, who returned to Pittsburgh to have his leg evaluated after suffering an injury Sunday afternoon at New Jersey. There is no word yet on Kennedy's status.
