Staal Bloodied But OK In Practice

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Injured Penguins Sidney Crosby, Jordan Staal, Simon Despres and Arron Asham all practiced Thursday.

Crosby and Asham (concussions) participated before full-team practice with strength and conditioning coach Mike Kadar. Despres and Staal both participated in practice with the rest of the team.

Staal was forced to leave practice  after taking a stick to the face. Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Staal received stitches and should be fine. He is a candidate to return to the lineup Saturday against Winnipeg, and the demotions of Jason Williams and Colin McDonald have many expecting Staal will be back this weekend.

Despres left practice midway through for unknown reasons only to return and finish the session.
