Man Arrested In Connection With Death Of 11-Year-Old Boy
KNOXVILLE (KDKA) – A man was arrested in connection with an alleged beating death of an 11-year-old boy Saturday night.
According to police, the incident happened at a home in the 100-block of Knox Avenue around 11:40 p.m.
The child's mother called 911 and reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her son.
The boyfriend has been identified as 29-year-old Anthony Bush.
Bush lives at the home and was watching the child while the mother was working Saturday night. Bush allegedly disciplined the child by beating him with various objects around the apartment.
When police arrived, they found the child on the floor suffering from an apparent head wound. The boy also had no pulse.
Officers performed CPR at the scene and were able to restore a light pulse. The child was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital before being transferred to Children's Hospital, where he died just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
Bush is being charged with homicide in this case.
