SQUIRREL HILL (KDKA) – Six people were injured in a Squirrel Hill accident involving a Port Authority bus Monday afternoon.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Murray and Phillips Avenues shortly after noon.

According to the Port Authority, a 61-C bus was heading inbound on Murray Avenue. The driver had to slam on the brakes because a vehicle in front of the bus made a U-turn at the intersection.

Six people were taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital after falling down inside the bus due to the sudden braking. The injuries all appear to be minor in nature.
