A.J. Burnett: "I Have High Expectations Of Myself"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- New Pirates pitcher A.J. Burnett joined the Fan Morning Show on Monday morning to talk about being traded to Pittsburgh.

A.J. quickly showed his personality and excitement about being in Pittsburgh saying, "I'm not going to lie, I look pretty good in black and gold."

Though he has yet to meet with his teammates, he has spoken with Manager Clint Hurdle and Pitching Coach Ray Searage, A.J. tells us that he is happy to just be able to pitch, and not worry about tinkering with his mechanics, saying, "I've got 11 years in the game, I don't need fixed."

A.J. was impressed with the Pirates first-half run last year that saw them leading the division at one point, and "hopefully [he] can be that piece of the puzzle and help them get over that little hump."
