Charlie Morton Is Healthy And Ready To Go

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pirates Starting Pitcher Charlie Morton joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN live from Spring Training.

Morton updated us on his off-season hip surgery and said that he has already pitched off a mound five times, and his only concern is getting his reps in and building up arm strength.  Charlie anticipates pitching in games in the first week of March and being ready to be a part of the Opening Day rotation.

We also discussed the addition of A.J. Burnett and what that means to the team, and Morton said he is really glad to have Burnett as part of the rotation because he'll not only make the team better on the field, but he'll help in the development of other pitchers.

Charlies also told us what clicked with him last year that allowed him to figure out the best way to use his electric stuff, and said most of the credit for that belongs to the coaching staff.

We wrapped things up with Morton having him tell us what his goals are for the upcoming season.
