Daycare Worker Arrested, Facing Indecent Assault Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Baldwin Borough Police Department says a local daycare worker has been arrested on several charges including indecent assault.

According to police, 63-year-old Thomas Cottrill was taken into custody without incident at the Nancy Podrat Day Care Home in Squirrel Hill.

Investigators say Cottrill has worked at the daycare center for 10 years.

He is facing charges indecent assault, indecent exposure, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption the morals of a minor.

According to investigators, Cottrill is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile a number of years ago.

Police say Cottrill is being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending posting of bond.

A preliminary hearing has been set for March 6.
