Mother Of 11-Year-Old Beaten To Death Charged

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Pittsburgh woman whose 11-year-old son was beaten to death is now facing criminal charges.

Cynthia McKee, 31, was arrested at her Knox Avenue home Monday by Pittsburgh Police.

McKee is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and involuntary manslaughter.

Donavan McKee, 11, was found brutally beaten February 11th.

The live-in boyfriend of Cynthia McKee, Anthony Bush, was arrested and charged with the crime.

"The mother waited – I believe it's an hour and 40 minutes before calling the paramedics," said Magisterial District Judge Jim Motznik.

Motznik, who signed the arrest warrant for McKee says, "We all have kids and it's hard to imagine how someone who has children can let their child be treated like that."

McKee is in the Allegheny County Jail facing. No bond on her possible release has been set at this time.
