Vigil Held For Wilmerding Shooting Victim

WILMERDING (KDKA) – Friends and family of a teenager who was shot and killed in Wilmerding held a candlelight vigil Saturday night.

Shawn Januck, 18, was shot and killed inside a home on Lydia Street Friday night. Police have since arrested 21-year old Seth Dillon in connection with the shooting.

On Saturday, friends and family gathered to remember a loved one, whose life was cut short.

It's just such a big change. I'm not [going to] see him tomorrow. I can't picture it," one friend said.

"We love you Shawn, may you rest in peace," Januck's mother, Joyce, said.

There were prayers, tears and at times laughter as friends said they will never let Januck's memory fade.

"He had a whole life ahead of him. He would do anything for anyone. He would drop anything. He was just a great person," Alexa Ciglio said.

"He definitely wouldn't want us all sitting here crying over him. He'd all want us happy, he'd tell us all to chill," Shannon Dipolo said.

Witnesses told police that Dillon came to the house to show off a gun. According to police, that's where he fired the shot that killed Januck.

According to the criminal complaint, Dilon wanted witnesses to tell police that someone came into the house and shot Januck.

Dillon is being held at the Allegheny County Jail on charges of carrying an illegal weapon and criminal homicide.
