Police Chase Not Related To Uniontown Drug Bust

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) — There are new details following a police chase in Fayette County.

The chase happened in Uniontown at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday during a traffic stop. KDKA-TV has learned the chase was not connected to the drug bust on West Berkeley Street.

The driver of the car gave chase for several miles before he drove into someone’s yard, got out of the car and tried to run away.

Officers quickly placed him in handcuffs. The suspect swallowed drugs and had to be taken to a hospital to have his stomach pumped.

He also threw away heroin.

The driver will face charges of felony fleeing and eluding, reckless endangerment and drug charges.

The passenger of the vehicle was not charged.
