Homewood Shooting Leaves 1 Dead

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) – Police are investigating after one man was killed in a Homewood shooting early Sunday morning.

According to police, officers responded to the 700-block of North Homewood Avenue around 4:30 a.m. for a report of shots being fired.

When officers arrived, they found a group of people tending to 35-year-old Elden Harper. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the course of their investigation, police learned that Harper was standing in the area when another African-American male came up behind him and shot him in the head.

The suspect then fled toward the 7100-block of Fleury Way.

No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call the Pittsburgh Homicide Office at (412)-323-7161.
