Worker Electrocuted In East Liberty

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a deadly freak accident in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood.

A worker was electrocuted at a construction site. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 26-year-old Joshua Oswalt from Pittsburgh.

It happened inside Matthews Marking Products on Penn Avenue near the new Bakery Square development.

Initially there were reports of a worker shocked in the basement of the two-story building. Police on scene tell KDKA Oswalt was in cardiac arrest when EMTs transported him to the hospital.

Dozens of people watching a baseball game across the street witnessed the urgent emergency response.
