Sarris Candies Reopens Ice Cream Parlor After Fire

CANONSBURG (KDKA) --Just in time for summer, Sarris Candies reopened its ice cream parlor today in Canonsburg.

The Washington County landmark was forced to close that portion of its business after a fire caused some damage back in February.

The rest of the store was not badly damaged and has continued to operate while repairs were completed to the ice cream parlor.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 10:15 a.m. and then the doors opened at 11 a.m.

The Sarris Candies store reopened to the public back on March 1.

Officials said the fire caused about $100,000 in damage.
