Train Cars Derail In McKees Rocks

MCKEES ROCKS (KDKA) -- Emergency crews are at the scene of a train derailment in McKees Rocks.

This happened near Taggart Street.

McKees Rocks Fire Chief Nick Radoycis says two cars derailed. They had been carrying plastic pellets, but they are currently empty.

This is a Pittsburgh and Ohio Central freight train.

A work crew from Washington County using a side boom crane uprighted the railroad cars Wednesday night.

The crew lifted the cars with the crane, dismantled the wheels and axles, repaired them and put them back on the cars.

No one was hurt.

Stay with KDKA for the latest developments.
