Alleged Victim. No. 1 Gives Tearful Testimony In Sandusky Trial

BELLEFONTE (KDKA) – Day two of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial got underway Tuesday and it was a potentially damaging morning for the defense.

An alleged victim tearfully testified about years of alleged sexual abuse at the hands of the former football coach.

Sandusky sat motionless as his accuser took the stand.

The accuser known as Victim No. 1 is now 18-years-old.

By the time the prosecution focused on the alleged abuse, the witness broke down in tears.

He said as encounters with Sandusky became more frequent, what started as rubbing and cracking his back became kissing on the forehead, cheek and then the lips.

Victim No. 1 became a frequent visitor to the Sandusky home and the alleged contact became more uncomfortable and explicit.

Between sobs on the stand, he testified about the details of that contact.

The witness said he came from a broken home and never knew his father. When asked why he didn't tell mother early on he said, "I was embarrassed and confused. I didn't know what to do. I didn't tell my mom. She enjoyed that I had a role model. I couldn't just say no."

Eventually, he and his mother told a school counselor, who didn't initially believe him. However, CYS and state police did believe him, which led to this investigation and these charges.

He also cried when the defense cross-examined him about the inconsistencies of his accusations about when and how many of the alleged acts occurred.

The witness replied, "Because I was scared."

He has wrapped up his testimony for the day.
