A family friend helped plan a banana split party for Ryan, a boy with Down Syndrome, posting it on Facebook and inviting friends. Within days the invitation list grew to nearly 30,000 people in all 50 states and four other continents. People are having their own banana split parties and posting their pictures to the site.
