NEW CASTLE (KDKA) — A Lawrence County man is facing charges in connection with the stabbing death of his wife.

Police say they were called Wednesday to a home in the 600-block of East Reynolds Street for a domestic disturbance.

According to the New Castle Police Department, 38-year-old Shawn Moore has been charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Police say Moore’s wife, 36-year-old Alisha, was found with numerous stab wounds on the first floor of the home.

Investigators say officers found the suspect sitting on the front porch of the residence.

According to police, Moore “did admit to officers that he had killed his wife after she stabbed him first.”

Authorities say he had a laceration to his hand and blood on his clothing.
