Clairton House Gutted By Fire

CLAIRTON (KDKA) — Firefighters knocked down a fire in Clairton.

The house at 520 Thompson Avenue was shared by 64-year-old Bruce Oaks and his 7-year-old son.

They were not home at the time of the fire which started at about 2 p.m. It took firefighters a little more than an hour to put out the flames.

It appears the fire started on the front porch. A neighbor said she was walking her dog and saw the flames in the front of the house.

The owner of the house said he was helping a friend and he came back home to find his home gone.

The house is a total loss.
