1 Dead, 1 Injured In Washington Co. Crash

WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) – A crash in Washington County left one person dead and another injured early Saturday morning.

According to the Washington County Coroner's Office, the accident happened in the 200-block of East Maiden Street in Washington around 12:35 a.m.

A Jeep SUV was traveling east when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole.

The driver of the vehicle was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, but there is no word on their identity or condition at this time.

A passenger in the vehicle, Rebecca Soffel, 21, of Venetia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
