Vehicle Crashes Into Arby's Restaurant In Wexford

WEXFORD (KDKA) – Several people escaped injury after a vehicle crashed into an Arby's restaurant in Wexford Thursday morning.

According to witnesses, the accident happened at the restaurant on Perry Highway in the Wexford Plaza around 10 a.m.

The female driver was not injured in the crash. There was an employee inside the building at the time, but they were also not injured.

Employees at the restaurant say the woman who drives the black SUV is always the first in the restaurant every day.

The unidentified driver reportedly tried to pull into her usual parking space. But instead, she rocketed into the side of the building right where the restaurant's bathrooms are.

"She stepped on the gas instead of the break, and there's the result," said John Donoghue, the restaurant's owner. "It is what it is. [It] took out two restrooms."

It took a while before the SUV was pulled from the Arby's; but despite all the physical damage, no one was hurt.

"Nobody was in the restrooms," said Chief Tim Flaherty, of the Wexford Fire Department. "If they had been, they could of been severely injured or killed."
