MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (KDKA) — Five people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash Friday evening along Interstate 68 in West Virginia.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, the six-vehicle accident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Interstate 68 East near mile marker 9.

One of the vehicles involved flipped over.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office say they believe Friday’s severe weather conditions played a role in causing the accident.

The five people who were injured were being treated a Ruby Memorial Hospital.
