Authorities received the call about the backpack shortly after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

It was found in the 5800 block of Ellsworth Avenue.

A witness told KDKA the man who found the package said it was sitting on a bench. When he unzipped it, he saw wires and called 911.

At about 5 p.m., the bomb squad disrupted the backpack, but nothing dangerous was found inside.
