HARMAR TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — The search for a man who fell from a boat into the Allegheny River has ended.

Crews found the body of 31-year-old Michael Schultz, of Lower Burrell, Thursday.

He was boating with friends on the Allegheny River in Harmar Township at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Schultz was at a party along Warner Camp Road when he and four friends decided to go out on the boat.

After Schultz fell off the boat, a friend went in after him but wasn’t able to pull him to the surface.

Police, the Allegheny Valley Fire Department and Blawnox Rescue searched for Schultz until around 2 a.m. Thursday.

They resumed the search at 8 a.m. with a cadaver dog and found Schultz’s body about two and a half hours later.

No foul play is suspect. Police are investigating to learn if alcohol was involved.
