ROCKLAND TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A woman was killed in an ATV accident in Venango County early Sunday morning.

According to state police, the accident happened on Brandon Road in Rockland Township around 12:10 a.m.

Kristine Schindler, 22, of Gibsonia was traveling west on Brandon Road and failed to negotiate a right turn in the road. As a result, the ATV went into a ditch and Schindler was thrown from the vehicle and slid into a tree.

Schindler was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
