PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – The Pirates are looking to hold on to the final Wild Card spot for the National League. To talk about it, The Fan Morning Show talked to baseball columnist, Jeff Passan from Yahoo Sports.

Jeff gives a look from an outsider perspective on teams like the Pirates, Orioles, and Athletics, who are all in the hunt for the playoffs, but haven’t been for quite some time. We get Jeff’s thoughts on which of those teams are most likely to hold on to a playoff spot.

Jeff says that if Andrew McCutchen cannot break out of his slump, it will not be a death blow to the Pirates, but it will certainly hurt their chances.

We also get a look at the teams chasing the Pirates for the final Wild Card spot, including the Giants, and how they will be able to perform without Melky Cabrera.
