Bouchette On DeCastro: 'I Don't Expect Him To Play This Year'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - For a total recap of the Steelers third preseason game, The Fan Morning Show spoke with 93.7 The Fan Steelers Insider, and Post-Gazette beat writer, Ed Bouchette.

David DeCastro's knee injury is a blow to the offensive line. Asked if he we can expect to see him soon, Ed tells us, "I don't expect him to play this year."

He said he doesn't think the Steelers will want to hold a roster spot captive for most of the season in the  hopes that he will return.

The firing of Al Everest had some scratching their heads. Ed tells us that the termination was not based on performance of the special teams unit, saying that it, "had nothing to do with special teams."

On the defensive side of the ball, Ed tells us that Cortez Allen really had a solid game against Buffalo. Enough so that he thinks Allen will start the season opposite Ike Taylor.

Ed also gives us his thoughts on Mike Wallace, Charlie Batch's future on the team, and who stood out for the Steelers in the third preseason game.
