Missing Woman Found Safe In Moraine State Park

MORAINE STATE PARK (KDKA) – A missing woman from Avalon was found safe and sound in Moraine State Park early Wednesday morning.

According to officials at the scene, a park ranger saw what he thought was an abandoned vehicle in a picnic area on the south shore of the park.

The ranger ran the plate and found it belonged to 60-year-old Judith Outly, who was reported missing on Tuesday.

Search crews began looking for the woman and eventually found her around 2:40 a.m.

"She did not have a flashlight or any aides with her. So, it was very difficult to locate her as well as her finding her way out," Assistant Park Manager Jake Welland said.

Outly allegedly went for a walk in the park, but did not tell anyone about her plans.

She is back with her family and is expected to be okay.
