Beaver Falls Considering Dog Ban In Business District

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) -- A local town is considering banning dogs.

In Beaver Falls, they're working to revitalize the business district and banning dogs is part of the plan.

Some residents say pet owners sometimes leave larger dogs tied to parking meters and some say that can scare customers away from businesses.

There's also a problem with owners not cleaning up after their dogs.

"When I walk, I try to walk daily, I tell you I get disgusted because people aren't cleaning up after their dogs, after animals," said John "Chuckie" Kirkland, a councilman in Beaver Falls. "They got to clean up."

"Some people treat their dogs just like family members and you don't want to do that to your family member," Andre Milliner, of Beaver Falls, said. "So, let's just have a little law, don't leave your dog unattended."

The proposal is still being researched, and council doesn't expect to take any action until later this year.
