PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) — Paul Bessire, known better as “The Prediction Machine,” checked in with The Fan Morning Show Thursday for his regular weekly spot, which can be heard Thursdays at 8:40 a.m.

Bessire’s machine, which simulates each game 1,000 times, found that taking the underdog Bears tonight should be a great play, even though it expects the Packers to win the game.

As for Steelers/Jets, he thinks the game will be dominated by defense, and has the Steelers winning 20-16. He said 59.3 percent of his simulations had them winning, but overall, he doesn’t expect them to cover the spread.

He said he didn’t foresee Pitt covering the spread against Virginia Tech, and as usual, he had plenty to say about a whole slew of upcoming NFL games.
