ALLISON PARK (KDKA) — Police are investigating a hold-up at a tanning salon in the North Hills.

Hampton Township police say a man passed a note to the clerk at the Tanning Emporium along Route 8 in Allison Park at around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday.

The note demanded money. He also said he had a gun, but no one saw the weapon. After getting the cash, he ran off behind Ruby’s Cleaners.

Police set up a perimeter and searched for him with a K-9 unit. They found the emptied cash drawer and the suspect’s hooded sweatshirt.

The suspect is male, believed to be in his early 20’s. He’s about 5-feet-5-inches tall.
