CONNOQUENESSING (KDKA) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Connoquenessing, Butler County.

It happened at about 4:40 p.m. Friday in the 100-block of Sunset Drive.

“A young man is dead,” State Police Lt. Steve Ignatz said. “He was apparently shot. How that happened – we’re still looking at the circumstances.”

State police in Butler are handling the investigation. They have not released the victim’s name or age.

Authorities say the man’s body was found in the living room. A man and woman were at the home when the shot was fired.

Friends who knew the victim say they can’t believe what happened. They say there was an argument before the young man was killed.

“He was a good kid,” said a neighbor. “He would give you the shirt off his back.”

State police say several weapons were found inside the home, but they have not released who pulled the trigger.

“The scene is being processed,” Ignatz said. “We’re treating it as a crime scene.”
