The Castle Shannon Police Department is using an online program to help keep neighbors connected and informed.

It’s an online place where you and your neighbors can ask questions, stay in the know and exchange local help and advice.

Castle Shannon residents can join Nextdoor’s private neighborhood websites where they can discuss local events, school activities, plumber and babysitter recommendations, disaster preparedness, recent crime activity, or even lost pets.

Police said they think this will help create safer communities.

The Castle Shannon Police Department is the first in the state to roll out Nextdoor citywide.
