LATROBE (KDKA) — A Westmoreland County man is recovering from an extremely close call.
John Kung says he was driving home from Latrobe early Sunday morning when a rock came crashing through his windshield on Route 22 East.
Police say they believe it may have been thrown from a hillside.
The rock, weighing 20 pounds, hit Kung in the face, knocking off his glasses.
He was able to pull off to the side of the road and call 911.
“I was pretty frantic,” said Kung. “I got pretty nervous and really shaken, but I was able to talk to the police officer.”
Kung suffered only minor scrapes.
Police are looking for suspects.
