PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Firefighters are trying to contain a fire at a battery plant in Lawrence County.

The fire started Sunday evening at the Inmetco battery recycling plant in Ellwood City.

Initial reports say that the fire may have been started by an explosion.

The mayor of Ellwood City wrote on his Facebook page shortly after 8 p.m. that all employees were safe and accounted for.

No word yet on the condition of the plant.
