City To Hold Wallflowers & Wildflowers: Alternative Homecoming Dance

The city is hosting its own homecoming dance.

The dance, called "Wallflowers and Wildflowers: Alternative Homecoming", is for teens in grades 9 through 12 who feel uncomfortable attending their own school dance.

The idea was inspired by the movie *Perks of Being a Wallflower* as a way to curb bullying and provide other events for students.

The dance will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

Tickets are $3 in advance, $5 at the door and proceeds benefit free teen programs.

Tickets can be bought in advance at the museum's teen desk for $3 and are available at the door for $5 the day of the dance
