New Entertainment Center, Latitude 40, Celebrates Grand Opening

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- As every fan of Jimmy Buffett knows, sometimes we all need a change in latitude, made famous in his hit tune "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes."

Fortunately, the opening of Latitude 40 means we need go no further than The Pointe off Parkway West.

"I love it," says Jodi Holets of Robinson, who was there on Tuesday, Opening Day.

This new entertainment center features plenty of electronic games, gadgets and interactive video fun for fans of all ages, luxury bowling lanes, several bars, a couple of restaurants, a music stage and dance floor - and under construction but opening next year - a cinema and theater featuring comedy acts and other performers.

"It's a fantastic place. There's a ton of things to do, old and young alike," adds Holets.

"It's pretty awesome. It's got a little bit of everything, the bowling, looking forward to the cinema and the concerts," says Chris Bross of Moon.

"I think it's really nice. The food's really good. I think it's a great place," notes Cheryl Hazelbaker of Robinson.

This is the second Latitude that Pittsburgh native Brent Brown has opened.

The first was in Jacksonville, Fla.

"Our target demographic is 25 years (of age) and older, but kids love it. In Florida, we did over 360 birthday parties in the first year we were opened," Brown told KDKA money editor Jon Delano.

And Brown says it's the fun and great food that will bring customers back, as Debbie Hayman of Kennedy Township acknowledged.

Delano: "Are you likely to come back?"

Hayman: "Oh, of course, probably tonight."

Latitude 40 is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. until midnight - closing at 2 a.m. on weekends.

The good news: there is no cover charge until late at night.
