RMU Speaker Series: Optimistic America

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- For the past 11 years, Robert Morris University along with many other sponsors have entertained the city with their Speaker Series.

KDKA's Larry Richert was joined by Dr. Connie Ruzich, a Robert Morris University Professor of English, at Heinz Hall to listen to speaker, Jon Huntsman Jr.

From 2005 to 2009 Huntsman served as the 16th Governor of Utah, from 1992 to 1993 he was the United States Ambassador to Singapore, then in 2009 to 2011, he was the ambassador to China.

Recently, he ran as a candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

During his speech, he discussed his views on America and the challenges we face together. But he wants our country to be optimistic about all our problems.

As he continued his presentation ,he gave views on the political and economic deficits in our country, and the importance of China to our future.

Huntsman believes we need to, "let our light shine and speak up for how great we are."
