CBS Analyst Phil Simms: Steelers & Ravens Can't Fool Each Other Anymore

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- CBS Sports NFL analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Phil Simms joined The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to preview the Steelers' Week 13 matchup with the Ravens.

He thinks the Steelers have a chance to win against the Ravens, even with Charlie Batch starting again at quarterback.

"These games are close- [the teams] know each other well," Simms explained. "There's nothing that they do that can fool the other team."

He was impressed by Steelers' defense's first outing against the Ravens, citing that as a sign of hope for the team entering the second one.

He did add, though, that defending Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco is becoming an increasingly more difficult task.

"When guys get open, he doesn't miss them," Simms said. "To me, that's what makes him a big time NFL quarterback."

As for the struggling Batch, Simms didn't feel that he could second-guess the Steelers' choice of backup quarterbacks, given that he liked what they had in that department entering the season.

Simms will call the game this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. with Jim Nantz. The broadcast can be seen locally on KDKA-TV.

Simms can also be seen on "NFL Monday QB" every Monday at 6:30 p.m., on the CBS Sports Network (the cable home of CBS Sports, available locally throughout Pittsburgh on Comcast Channel 854, Verizon Channel 94, DirecTV Channel 613, and DISH Network Channel 158).
